Hello

Yesterday and one hour ago i hosted several Multiplayer games with all requiered ports forwarded. But atfer we intended to play a second game m friend who wanted to join received an error which said that no host could be found for the game. After some Log-Ins and outs he was able to join again and now we're trying to play a third time but it doesn't work anymore.

Any ideas ?

Most people run winXP these days so I assume your friend is. My guess would be that the windows firewall is blocking A2.

Try disabling it, along with norton/mcafee/zonealarm/any software firewall. If that solves the problem then you can look at whitelisting the program. (whitelisting a program for internet access dosen't always mean the program has free access, where as disabling the firewall genrally does)

I do feel obliged to point out that if you play against anybody thats sitting in the lobby you will die without knowing at least the absolute basics of how to play. In short this is because virtually everyone playing A2 online have been doing so for several years and everyone plays to their absolute best and this can be quite intimidating to a newcomer.

This thread has some tactics that could help you:- http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?t=232924

If it dosen't help much then feel free to ask for help, I can teach you what you would need to get started.

:D We should do another 2v1 one of these days! Sorry that I had to finish you both off so quickly last time but my dinner was getting cold...

Anyway, I was foolish enough to take a promotion to middle management recently and after a day dealing with whining and sheer stupidity on a scale that I had previously thought was reserved for politicians and the insane I haven't really had the inclination to even turn my PC on.

Still, after a couple of weeks I have settled in somewhat and after noticing the news post that Jolt will be taking the next couple of weeks off I will certainly make sure I am around here more.

Lol, don't feel bad... I played allot, years ago, then forgot how to find the stupid Lobby. I spent a couple hours trying to find it directly through the Gamespy site, lol. To play online, launch A2; select Multiplayer; select Gamespy; then follow the menu. In order to play, you need to have the same version as those you play against, i.e.: Version 1.0, 1.1, or the same mod.
