I downloaded a Valdore ship to place in Armada 2, and it was a self-extraction file that loaded everything on its own, but I can not find the ship ... I also loaded an Ambassador class ship, which had a self installer, and it is now a choice in ships ( looks fantastic, by the way ) ... How do I load ships??? I admit I am clueless, but some of the ships you can download to the game woudl be soooo much cooler than what they have in there now ... Does the Big Book of MODS explain all of this???

try installing them into a seperate folder, that way you can see what 's being change or added. when you've done that you can put the odf in corresponding odf file (ship for the rval and fambas) the phaser in te phaser odf, the torpedo in the torpedo odf. the TGA fils in the texture/rgb folder. the adirals log pic goes in the bitmap/admiralslog/shipimages folder the SOD goes in the SOD folder. (stop and breath in). that is how i add ships, unless i add ships to the same ship yard, if so i use the ODF Editor from armada2file to write it in. long winded arn't I?

From my experiance, Self Extractors are only good for Total Conversion MOD's etc. Single Ship MOD's become void once you install more than one.

that's why I sad to put them in a seperate folder, using the OdF editor to change the build list of the ship yards
