I have played Armada II before and I wanted to reinstall it but I cannot. The menu appears and I click install but when I do the menu closes and nothing happens. Even more strange, when I shut down the computer the installation appears for a fraction of a second right before the computer turns off. I have the minimum requirements and have tried everything I can think of...

Go straight into the CD and activate the Setup.exe programme from disc explore. Exactly the same problem as me, and exactly the same method got it working :)

Or as I did once, dump the cd contents to your HDD and install it from their instead (you still need the original cd for any cd checks but it should install much quicker as well).

Do you mean right clicking on it and click explore and then double clicking on setup.exe? That did not work for me...

I copied the files and put them in a folder in program files, clicked setup, click install, and it closes. The demo shield box appears for a second and disappears and nothing happens after that...

Right I have had this happen to me before and the way I got around it was to system restore to a date before the problem occured(note I have XP)This cleared the problem for me

I think its a delay there. I have xp and the box dissapears then comes back in about 3 or 4 minutes. Try what MaP said and then wait a few minutes and it should install. Wk15

Me again click on the following 1. start menu 2.Accessories 3.System Tools 4.system restore 5. follow the instructions and reset to date before you tried to install A2 the first time. If this doesn't work then I don't know whats up with it. You can always rollback the restore just follow the above instructions and there is an option for rollback out of the three options 1. system restore 2. create a restore point and 3. undo system restore HOPE THIS HELPS

I tried system restore three times using different dates and it keeps saying "system restore incomplete, choose a different date". What makes it even more frustrating is when the system restore prepares to reboot the computer the Armada II installation appears with the loading bar but then it is too late
