If your using XP then that could be your problem, Armada 1 wont run on XP (well it doesnt run on mine, it doesnt even install properly on mine, when i tried it, most of the files that were installed to the directory were EMPTY, INCLUDING THE EXE, AS WELL AS OTHER IMPORTANT FILES THE GAME NEEDED SO I REMOVED IT. ME (Melenium Edition) wont run Armada 1 either, if you've got either of the op systems, your best off sticking with A2, at least that will run on XP.

I think the problem with XP, is Service Pack 2. It introduced a lot of security fixes, along the lines of Linux/MacOS X style permissions. Old Windows programs are used to not having to deal with high security issues, and do not always work.

It definately worked with Windows Me. Any issues with Me were likely due to its poor quality. Crashing, more security holes than 98, etc.

Armada should work fine with the Win9x compatibility mode. I just loaded it up on Windows 2000 Pro. Worked great, I just wish I could find the old "Empire and Federation" mod. Not sure I have all the sounds, and patches.

I definately like Armada 1 better than the Sequel. Except for the number of ships, and number per group. I even like the graphics better...

I also found out that I am badly out of practice. The Klingon AI on Hard tore me too pieces:

I seem to remember that AI being the worst around... :uhm:

When I try to run armada 2 it works except the sound is distorted and the graphics are streched. By this I mean if I build a sovereign clas when the gap between the naecells should be I see a the blue from the naecells streched right across it. I have windows xp service pack 2 does anyone know how to fix this problem?
