i have a ship and the weapons arnt fireing i checked the odf there is no " missing same weapons work on other ships self destruct works but it wont fire the weapons
This happened to me when I was attempting to arm construction ships. Ensure the hitpoints are correct or try another one. Perhaps the vessel in question cannot fire standard weapons. The problem I had with Gamma Earth. Unless I am mistaken self destruct and tractor beam can be used by any ship as they are not really weapons. :confused:

I've dealt with problems like this before. First make SURE you haven't overlooked anything. If there's still a problem trace the odf back to its root and see if there is a conflicting command. Also make sure the ship is allowed to attack at all via context sensitive menus. See if it has these: canAttack = 1 alert = 1 combat = 1 If it still has problems then make sure the sod has the appropriate hardpoints. also make sure it isn't the specific weapons you are trying to add. If it still doesn't work let me know.:)
ive tried sevral different weapons all hps are correct evry thing seems to be rite...

hi, i'm trying to use the ship that Kevin reported the firing problem with. tried adding the following lines as suggested: canAttack = 1 alert = 1 combat = 1 Hasn't made any difference unfortunately, the ship still won't fire. Its odd, because it does register foes, and it does maneuver to keep them in line of sight, but it still wont attack.
Play around with the hitpoints. Perhaps the model only has a few firing ports? Is it a ship? Even the stock cargo vessels can fire weapons if you select the right hitpoints to fire them from. But if you don't get the right ones they do the above, turn to watch but not fire.
it only has like 10 hp tried all of them
