I've tried to save changes to ODF files when I try to add in a mod, but it won't let me save the changes to it. I'm using Notepad, and removed the "read-only" I don't know why it won't let me save

Note: I don't have Vista

I think I heard that Vista has a "file protection mode" designed to prevent unauthorised file altering (seperate from the normal attribs).

I think that somhow Vista has "protected" your files from.. umm.. you! Perhaps each time you save (or try to) Vista thinks "Oh noes! hax0rs! Must prevent saving!" and then stops you saving.

Perhaps you have to login to Vista as "the guy in charge" instead of as "the average user" (I'm not sure of the correct terms but I think you get the idea..)

Note: I don't have Vista

You also have to change the permissions for the file. right click>properties>security>click edit

I have administrator rights on the computer, since I'm the only one who uses it.

goinfast, what is it that I'm looking for to edit in the security tab?

(side note, think I got it, will repost or edit if I figured it out)
