i dont think there is a way, i found a method of putting -window in the target field in shortcut but it doesnt work for armada2 (that i found)

p.s. whats the safest way to play armada2 buggy nature with somemods. I dont want it to burn my system and virtual pc doesnt support direct3d

I was thinking installing a mac os or something to emulate windows direct 3d... on my 2nd pc.

any feedback would be nice.

make sure you have created an empty file called ATVI in your armada 2 root directory, then try again with the -window parameter.

what do you mean by that? some mods may crash, however they won't kill your system. playing armada 2 under emulation is not without any drawbacks. a working virtual machine that supports direct3d hw acceleration is vmware (you can get a 30 day trial version) but it is slow as hell compared to let run armada 2 on a host computer.

wine has other drawbacks. i have also experienced low speed there plus some crashes with multiplayer and as the cd detection doesn't work right under wine, you also require a nocd patch to play armada there at all. the same goes for crossover or crossover games under mac os x, as it based on wine. take look at the wine appdb: Wine AppDB - Star Trek: Armada II
