Hi, I recently formatted by hard disk, therefore i lost Star Trek Armada. Now that i am reinstalling it from cd, it says setup.ins corrupted. please can anyone provide me with the setup.ins, i have copied the rest installer on to my hard disk. the only file i could not copy was setup.ins. please help bye
Setup.ins is not a Star Trek Armada file. Its an Install Shield Wizard file.
Try updating to a newer version. http://www.installshield.com/
I know the file is an Install Sheild wizard file. it is generated when the developer deploys its product using the Install Shield Software. the setup.ins file is a script required in order to run and complete the setup and install the game. please help bye
I take what n0e says way too seriously

try doing what monster said and get the latest version of it... it should replace any missing files or repair any damaged/corrupted ones
It was not on my Star Trek: Armada CD, so I cannot copy it. Therefore I assume its created when Install Shield is run. Therefore, its an issue with Install Shield.
My Armada CD is working fine, but I use Window 2000 with the Install Sheild updated, and Windows 98 with the original Install Shield...
I have heard that Windows XP causes stange issues with older programs. Armada was a finicky program when it was first released. So I the first thing I recommend to do, is to update your Install Shield Wizard. Then try running it in various Windows 98 modes.
It could very well be the CD, when a CD is BADLY scratched the installation is corupted
