when i view the colony ship in ms3d it shows that the model has no material properties,and wont show the new texture i made..even with the old one deleted it still shows that texture.ive even reinstalled the game and still get this problem.

here's more info on what is happening in ms3d...

when i view the area where you add a material tga..it shows ftransco.tga....but at the bottom where you input lighting type,etc and assign it to a group..it shows nothing..then i switch to model group..it doesnt display a lighting type or material as being linked back.

is this a ms3d error or is the model screwed?

Wish I could be sure about this but I've only just started modeling... Do you remember other models having different results? Have you made sure your new texture is uncompressed, the right size/format and all that? Have you tried assigning other textures to it? It might just be the way that model's set up. I think (if I'm remembering right) those tabs at the bottom don't have to be assigned. I'm sure someone else can help more.

When I bring up the stock fed colony ship (fcolony.sod) there are two mesh groups: lod1 and lod2. Each have the fcolony.tga texture file mapped to them. The lighting particulars are as follows: !phong_lod2_!noalpha and !phong_lod1_!noalpha

damn i was using the wrong texture...lol..fcolony...damn..i been up to long and drinkin to much coffee...
