Right ok...me and some friends were thinking of adding ships to an installed version of KM1.0 to play in our game amongst ourselves with friends...but the only problem is...how would one get them into the multiplayer list?
Ask Defiant on the KM forums :p
I once wrote a program (years and years back - my first mod lol) which you can use to add them. I don't have it any more, but I think it was posted in the BCU multiplayer section.
aha! Forgive me if it's not actually a RAR or something.
Please let me know if it works. It's been years.
Go on then? Did it work with KM1? (If so I will consider releasing it properly with a distinct warning that ADDING SHIPS TO KM WILL BREAK INTERNET MULTIPLAYER!) hehe
well whenver i try to use the program...i get runtime errors all the time..
ive tried it with the SDK doing it with v1.1 bridge commander...but the ship im trying to add comes out wrong in Multiplayer :S...the name says ??? and the ship image says Galaxy class not...constitution...
ahh ok! I see what's going on. Firstly you will need the VB6 Runtime DLL's. Wierd that since they are pretty standard on windows machines. Secondly, instead of the SDK 'SpeciesToShip.py' you will need to use the one which comes with KM1.0. This is not included in the KM scripts directory, but to the best of my knowledge is included in %KM1%/src/Multiplayer/. Once you have that, copy it to /scripts/Multiplayer Hope that helps! LJ
right ok cheers mate...any idea how i can fix the "???" name problem :S
Just installed VB6 but it still says Runtime Error "9" Subscript out of range....for the KM1.0 version of the SpeciesToShip.py
hmm I dunno then - chances are that Defiant has changed the KM1 SpeciesToShip.py and this has made it incompatible with my program. :(
You can fix the "???" name problem by making a TGL for the ship, there are probably guides of how to do that at BCC.
