Ok soon I should be getting BC and I was wondering, what files do I need to get for this game (aside from the patch).

I don't mean stuff like ships, (unless it's extremely well done) cause I can usually decide what ships to DL. I mean stuff like the MVAM download, what version, all that stuff.

1 Last question, what do I need to install mods, I don't understand the difference between the BCMI and BCMP.

Most "essential" files vary from person to person. The two truly essential mods, though, would probably have to be Dasher42's Foundation plugin, provided with BCMI and BCMP, and NanoFX 2.0. As for BCMI and BCMP, they're both simply mod installers. BCMI largely automates the process(just double-click on the mod), but it only works with the *.BCMod file format. BCMP is slightly more involved, but also more powerful. Drop the ship files in your BC directory, start up BCMP, and activate the plugin. Of course, appropriately detailed instructions are provided with BCMI and BCMP.

I can say yes, you can use both at the same time, depending of case, if i understand you question correctly, but they are diferent kind of instalers. When you download a mod, you will find find 2 classes of they: One for manualy install and one for BCMI. The BCMI way is simply of recognaise cos you will only see a file, for example "P81_Intrepid.BCMImod" of something like that. Just doble click, and if you have BCMI instaled in your computer it will install in the corrects directories for you. That's it. But the another way is when you find folders, for example: Inside de "P81_Intrepid", you find a couple or more folders: Data, scripts, etc, etc. You have to put the files into de corrects folder in Bridge Commander Main Folder. Then, open BCModPackager (doble Click) and make a plug in with a simply process that you will see in the Instruccions. The Plug In is for the BC can read in the correct place the new Mod. You can say that after that is already instaled. Whith that program you can do much more, but the essential is this. Sorry for my english. Edited for clarity to add correct paragraphs and line spacing. - elminster
