I've seen the various posts on how to change the main storyline ship, but all my files are .pyc, so I can't change the in game ship. At least I can't find a galaxy.py to edit.

I want to mod the ingame ship so that it fires torpedo's faster and has 8 frontal torpedos instead of 4.

Anyone able to help me?

you can only edit .py scripts and u need mpe to add torpedo tubes to change the relode time just go into the .py and find fwdtorpedo1 ect then change the line FwdTorpedo1.SetReloadDelay(10.000000) to FwdTorpedo1.SetReloadDelay(waterver you want.000000)

If you download the SDK (Software Development Kit) on bcfiles, you will get two things. Firstly all the .py files for stock ships, stations etc and secondly, the MPE (Model Property Editor). With the MPE, you can open .pyc files for editing as well as .py files. Press 'open' and then type filename.pyc as .pyc files won't appear in the file listings. Then click open and the .pyc will be opened, edited and can then be saved as a .py for later use.
