Hi all,

I only just got BC a few days ago, downloaded the BC Super Mod, and am now having trouble. The mod looks great, but I can't get over how weak the Sovereign is in single-player! I'm getting destroyed extremely easily when confronted by two Romulan Warbirds, and hence decided to try it in purely vanilla - in vanilla, I beat them off.

Why is this happening, and how do I fix it so that the Sovereign isn't made of tissue paper?

EDIT: apparently it's because the weapons are too powerful. Are there any mods that tone down the weapons power from the Super Mod v3?

you can make ships stronger by changing the values of the ship's properties found in the ship's hardpoint...

use Bridge Commander Universal Tool to change hardpoint values...

you can also change beam weapons (phasers, disruptors, etc) so they are weaker by looking for SetMaxDamage and change that to a lesser value... some ship have alot of phasers or whatever, each one has to be changed...

as far as weapons, using BCUT you can determine which weapons a ship uses... once you know the weapon, go to scripts/tactical/projectiles folder and find the weapon.... open it with a program like notepad and look for def GetDamage(): return xxxand change whatever xxx is to a lesser number...

Ah excellent, thanks for the help!

EDIT: okay I changed the weapons damage values, but it didn't seem to help a lot. Do I need to change the weapons strengths in the ship files as well?

it all depends - which weapons are you trying to change exactly? what have you done already? what was the previous values and your new ones?

also, i would recommend posting this topic at Bridge Commander Central - thats where the BC Community can be found... no one really comes to these forums anymore...
