If you really want to read a pyc file, you can open them with any text editor, or better a hex editor.

You don't read .pyc files, you read .py files - these are the raw code that can be opened in a text editor. A pyc file is what the python compiler produces when the game is fired up and changes the human readable files into computer readable files that can be dealt with more efficiently.

Some mods come with .py files included, others can be opened using the SDK/MPE program (when it asks you what to open, type filename.pyc to force it to open a .pyc instead of a .py file). The SDK/MPE includes stock .py files that can be opened and edited with text editors.

I have BC 1.1 with KM Full. As you may know, KB comes with only .pyc scripy, no .py. How would I go about editing a .pyc or creating a .py to accompany a .pyc?

I wonder if YOU read or think before you post...

That would be a definate no. They obviously need to be in the right folders. EDIT: Both file types are already in custom/ships though. Remeber, copy and paste not cut and paste; the ones in the src folder are backups.
