I didn't make it!
Hi, I'm new to BC Modding, does anybody know how to change the ship physics such as speeds, roll rates etc?
Simple, MPE (on BcFiles) OR Scripts\Ships\Hardpoints - open them in notepad and pick out bits. All you do is change around the numbers.
Note: When you edit speed be careful. not that it crashes your game or anything but if you set it to high you risk ending up in the other end of the universe at ½ impulse :naughty:
In the MPE (Model Property Editor), open up the main engine property. In there will be all of the ship's 'physics'.
Just don't turn rotational mass down to 0..if you enjoy controlling your ship..
go into mpe and make the ship lighter thats what i did works great
Depending on your class of ship, you'll find the balance setting the speed at around 7-9, the rotational inertia at 7500, the linear acceleration at 4-6, the angular speed at around 0.6-0.8 and angular acceleration at 0.2-0.3. the mass depends on how big is your ship. a Galaxy class has about 400-500 of mass, and an Akira class has around 200. All these values can be found in any ship, using MPE you'll have to find the "Impulse Engines" property and the ship's property, usually named as the ship What does this mean?, the acceleration values tells you how much seconds does the ship take to reach a desired speed. So if you power up engines, and set full impulse ahead, having an acceleration of 4, it will take you 4 seconds to reach full speed. Same way if you are turning. the lower the acceleration, the faster the ship turns Linear speed is your max speed. 9 means about 7500 kph.
