hi there modders thx a bunch for the hours of enjoyable ships to fight with in bc but i was wandering because i am rather interested in it myself how u have learnt these fabulous skills.
i was wandering if you could tell me the source of all this knowledge.
I haven't seen any tutorials or "books" that teach you how to mod. If you have any questions, I'll answer them if I can. I know a lot about script editing and using the property editor. I just learned everything that I know from trial and error, since you can never get any help on here (seems as if people are scared of newbies or something, as if they weren't one themselves at one point).
i dont really know anything but there is one thing u could tell me and that is wot programs i need to even begin to comprehend the possibility of starting modding. Also if possible where to find them?
Ok, here's a list: The SDK 3dsmax or Milkshape 3D (If you plan on making ship models) A good image editing program, such as Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop
You can get the SDK on www.bcfiles.com of course. As for 3dsmax and Paint Shop Pro/Adobe Photoshop... you could go to their respective websites and download the demos, or use KaZaA or some other file sharing program and download a Warez version of the real thing. (I prefer the Warez, as they want WAY too much money for some of these programs.)
I am planning to edit the bridge and make some ships...and tell me how to open the NIF file?? Is there any programs or other way to open the NIF file.?
