I recently changed compys and am in the process of getting back all the stuff I had that I couldn't out right transfer. I'm currently trying too find a mod I had that would cause phasers and other beam weapons too tend to miss their target when at range (more so for small ships)
unfortunately all i could find was the "Inaccurate Phaser mods" but this says it doesn't affect AI controlled ships, when the mod I had definitely did. Any ideas what mods this might be?
I had thought it was something in KM or Nanofx but I have everything switched on and it's not there it seems. Any help would be appreciated.
Also on a side note, I was wondering if there were any mods similar to nanofx that I should install too improve the visuals of bc. This compy is a significant upgrade over my old one (which was over 5 years old) yet the graphics doesn't seem to be all that different tbh.

see thats what I thought, but I have KM installed and I don't see it. I also have nanofx installed but it seems to be missing features as well (explosion shock waves, lights dimming on critical hit)
Having just played again, it seems like Nanofx actually isn't working, it's installed with everything switched on. but the game is still using the stock explosions/damage textures/ect.
=/ this is annoying me >.<
ok after messing around with my resolution, it appears there are more mutators under the mutator tab then I can actually see. with one of the res settings I was able too see more options below *nemesis collisions" which I had thought was the last mutator. the problem is I'm given no option to scroll down, so theres no way for me too even see whats there let alone turn them on..any ideas? =/

it doesn't have a mutator...and nanofx comes with KM1 as well...but doesn't work in MP for sync/playability issues
Im only using it in instant action, which I know should work fine as I used it on my old compy. Actually most of the files in this install were transferred directly from my old compy. For some reason I htought I remember having to tick a "master" mutator switch too turn nanofx on but maybe not. all the options in the nanofx menu in configure are ticked too on, but none of its working. =/
I tried most of what they suggested, there was actually a thread posted on the support forum by someone with the exact same problem. He said he fixed his by deleting some duplicate folder that vista created, problem is I'm not sure what folder hes talking about. I posted in that thread listing my problem (and asking him too clarify how he fixed it), but theres been no reply.
I tried installing a separately downloaded integrated menu mod over the one that came with km as suggested, but no luck. The only other replies too his were stating that KM dosn't support other mods (completely unhelpful for me..I'm on a clean BC 1.1 install atm)
I'm pretty sure that it's a vista issue, as the other gent stated he fixed his by deleting that folder, and I had BC, KM, stargate pack 3, and numerous single ship mods installed on my old compy (running xp) with no problems.
any ideas =/ this is fairly annoying >.>

I'd suggest re-installing Bridge Commander, install the patch and then install KM 1.0. I've had this problem before when I've installed KM on an old install of BC.

Yeah I just tried that, no luck. oddly enough even after uninstalling it all then manually deleting what was left in the folder. all my settings and stuff were still there after reinstalling it. almost like there was a back up that didn't get deleted somewhere. maybe this is what the other poster was referring too?
on top of that, now I'm crashing during longer fights...
