Hey guys. Hope some one can help me out. I desperately need a slight modification to a certain BC ship. Now the modification itself is not that bad, and only took me (A beginner 3d modeler) an hour or two to get it perfect. In fact iv done it more then once -_- The problem is that the ship comes out severly distorted with "dimples" all over it. Think golf ball lol. Its not good -_- I have traced teh problem all the way back to Milkshape importing the original .nif files. When first imported they look/work FINE. However if they are exported back into an .nif file (even unchanged) or exported into basicly any other useable format (for example .3ds so I can mod it with Max 3d, which I like better) it immediently shows these dimples when re imported or in BC itself. Here are screen shots showing teh problem. attachment.php?attachmentid=51143&stc=1&d=1152883767attachment.php?attachmentid=51144&stc=1&d=1152883777 As You can see it looks HORIBLE. Id appreciate any help/sugestions. Iv been working on thsi for a few months now and its starting to realy bug me -_- Please post here or contact me. Thank you in advanced, ~David Craft

EDIT: oh and iv also tried a few other completely different ships liek the defient... with the same results. -_- I see new ships here all the time so it MUST be somethign stupid im missing... *shrugs* yar...

that's a triangle and smoothing problemm, more common than you think. It's a long explanation, so I'll not post it here. send me a PM or a mail, so I can give you better advice.

Can you tell me what what version of milksahpe that you you have? The reason I'm asking is that I had the same problem with that issue with 1.7.1 and hire so I went back to 1.6.6a . Also if you use the .nif importer - exporter and try it import them miilkshape 1.7.4 or hire.

Once you get a decent version of MS and all the plugins you need, I recommend NOT updating anymore. I used to have to use 1.66 and 1.7 also ping ponging back and forth...

It sucked cause my registration for both would get mixed and it would always tell me 2 mins to register after I opened the other one. I had paid for it like 2 years ago lol...
