YES you can someone on the forum had created something so you can change it easily...as well as the bridge..but not al bridges will work for that in all missions...

uh, well, this is easy, depending on how much you want to change, before I got the full game, i did this on the demo all the time. Unfortunately, switching the bridges crashes single player, to change the ships...

simply go into your bridge commander/scripts/ships folder and rename your sovvie class, to a random name. Select the ship you want and rename it to the sovereign, then rename the sovereign file that you turned into giberesh to the name of the class that you changed to sovereign. Now when you play the game, you will be controlling the other ship you selected, no fancy programs needed.

Infact, for the demo, there is a ship switcher to do this exact thing allready made.

the beta switch i gave is not a "fancy program"..it is just the edited versions of somefiles in the campaigns folder. the ship and bridge names the game will see which ship/bridge to use is replaced by an value which you can change by a file which is included in the folder...this way all the files you need will be changed without the possibility of making mistakes..AND you can still use the sovereign in quickbattle ;)

Umm... ok, you can, but why would you? The CG Sovereign is THE best Sovereign made for BC. That's not just me saying it either, it IS... beyond me why you'd want to replace it...

LOL, The Guy just wants to know how too change the "Class" of the Player ship in Single Player mode. Not everyone's a "Sov Jockey";) -BR32

Yeah, You can place any ship in Single Player you wish. But, you won't be able to use MVAM in Single Player at all. It was designed for QuickBattle. :( -BR32

well, it will partially work...but will crash most of the time...separated parts will miss the other but then will be connected again....buttons are available but it might not work as expected
