I been trying to make new torpedo textures with Painshop pro7 but they arent coming out..they look normal. I wanted to start with making a new flare texture..all i did was make the size exactly the same as the default one, then I picked black for my background,then went to the textures area and made a very cool looking flare in white color. The torpedo looked the same as before when I went to test it...am I missing something?

are you sure you over-wrote the original texture?

I made a new one, all i did was make the size the same..the rest was my own texture. I have to keep the original?

Make sure you set the correct path and filename in the projectiles file. Also I believe the cores and flares have to be on alpha channels only.

thanks..i did not Alpha channel any of it..that applies to shield textures aswell i bet..cause that im also having a problem with:-)

Don't bother with flares, they don't work. Concentrate on the CORE.tga and the GLOW.tga. BC uses the core picture for the flares...so...it's a bug.
