Its not just that the shields are closer to the hull its that it has a differen't texture. The color and texture are like when the shields go down Armada II when the blue thing is cirulating around the ship, only in BC it should be closer to the hull. I know its a little late but oh well.

Yes you need to edit the Sphere file. Keep in mind though the center of this .tga file is used for the area of the shields that is being hit by weapons fire. So, if you want to edit there you can give it some sort of contact look. (I don't mean first contact :P) and the area around the middle would of course just be the rest of the shield reacting to the fire. ;)

if you make conformal sphere.tga for every fed ship like sovy or the nova, then name it novasheild.tga and link it to the ship via a script would tat work because thats the only way i can think of doing it without editing the .exe

Nope, as theres no script which lets you chose what texture to use.

well why cant ya make a silly script linking the sheild effect and the new sheild positions with the ship it would be alot easier than attempting to do it all from script. What? wouldnt that be easier ?? What?
