Im sure its been said before, but...

I want to (if i can) add ablative Armour to the courageous class of vessel. How do I go about changing the ship files? Ill do whatever hacking necessary to learn but please help me get started

Who's ablative armor are you going to use? FTech's ablative armor or ATP's?

since I have no idea, whichever is best. I like the one that shows up in engineering as diferent armour sets. like port ablaive, starboard ablative, etc. beyond that, i dont care :)

Ok, that is FTech. There is documentation on how to add ablative armor to a ship included with the FTech download.

ok that guide seems good but if by "open the ship plugin" they want me to go to /scripts/ships/hardpoints/courageous.py" then I dont see the line Foundation.shipdef

or am i lost?

That's the hp, not the plugin. The plugin is located in scripts\Custom\Ships.

THanks for your help, I have gotten far, but one more question. How do you create the hull property for it? i guess that goes in hardpoints, but what is the text I should put in there?

I highly urge you not to manually edit hp files. Download the SDK from BCF and use the MPE included in there.

That's up to you. It all depends on the ship. Without doing it myself, I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly.
