I'm a new modder.I JUST started to make new HP's. I want to become a hardcore modder likee Sneaker98, or Starforce2. So, if you could, please tell me the things to get to model, or edit new ships. To sneaker: How did you make the ejection mod? I mean, was there a certain program??? To Starforce: What program do you use to model? You're ships are great!

For modeling either get 3DS MAX, which is probably the best, or the lower cost Milkshape 3D, and when i say lower cost, it's alot lower, milkshape is only $20 after 30 days, if you're gonna be making models you also need a graphics program, such as paint shop pro to make your textures. For making hardpoints, you need to get the BC SDK, that has the model property editer in it for making completely new hardpoints for your custom models. You want to become like sneaker and starforce huh? well it ain't gonna happen overnight, but in time you could easily become that good! Good luck with becoming a modder man!!!!

^ i was just saying that, there are some people who think that a modder should tell them everything instantly and they should be able to do it all right away, but i'm glad your not one of those people.

Good luck with modding man. Maybe in the future we will see your mods with thousands of downloads and you may be known as someone who did the impossible. Again good luck:D

I need to know -now that I think of it- how to "get permission for a mod".

Also, I want to change the name of the USS VICTORY, to, USS-ENTERPRISE-F, but I can't figure out that one either . . . . .

SF5091I need to know -now that I think of it- how to "get permission for a mod".

u would only need 2 get permission if you want to mod another persons ship/mod. u would need 2 send the owner of the mod an e-mail requesting permission to change it, because once u make changes to it you basically violate any copyrights the mods creator had put in place. most mods include a readme file with the owners e-mail address. most of the time the mods creator will not mind (NOT every time), unless stated so in the copyright file, a person making a change or two for personal use ONLY (meaning for just that persons computer). If you don't get authorization to make changes on another persons mod, i have been told that BCfiles.com will not accept it into their file archives. I DO know that they won't accept them if you do not properly give credit to the origonal creators. just send 'em an e-mail if an address was included in the readme file. if just a game name was included then im not sure wot u should do. ask 1 of the BCFiles.com lab rats, they should know. ah.... yes..... TOS just came on..... gtg
