Hey I was wonderrng if anyone could give me some advice on editting TGA files in Adobe Photoshop.
Until now I've been using the TGA Editor tool thats on BCFiles and has been a good stop gap measure for some time. But it does have draw backs and im sure there must be a way to directly separate alpha channels on a TGA in Photoshop.
Unfortunately I just can't figure it out, so any help would be much appreciated
Hey Dkealt, I'm not much of a texturer - but to get an alpha channel on a texture you need to click channel on the layers menu and click the small "box" at the bottom of the menu that says "Create new channel" and that will create a channel called alpha 1 for you. As for learning - im sure your familiar with more tutorial sites than i am, there always a good place to start to learn tricks of the trade.
Hey thanks, i've managed to do that though, i was trying to find out how to open an alpha channel into a separate layer from a saved file.
Thts what the TGA tool did for me, it could separate the alpha from a saved image, at the moment Photoshop just loads it with transparancy
