Is it possible to set up a planet with a weapons system, and then make it so it could be captured? What I was thinking was it would be fun to be able to transport troops to an enemy planet and capture it. Sorry if this has been asked but I didnt see this in anything I've read.
its been deemed that the planets don't have a Hardpoint, tho it is possible to link a planet model to a Planet...... only that would eat up a ton of memory space in my personal opinion.
I was trying to do something similar in the past whit no good results... but, since the Death Star was released, i've been thinking about to use that station as a mesh whit only a few modifications and a complete retexture, perhaps this funny-fat girl could be converted in an armed planet or moon... whit the owner aproval of course...:deal:
It works for Asteroids, why not planets?
Because planets are so big. If you get Textures on it like the Earth Textures, and if you don't disable damage on the planets, your going to lock up your game like theres no tomorrow. a Asteroid is much smaller and easy. Its ship sized and easily destroyable with damage.
Remeber how simpel the deathstar textures are. They didn't even cover the holes where you can see stars. So i can only suggest that you make simple planets like the Stock Planet textures (before the earth textures or system pack ones) they are simple and hopefully be able to add what you want.
