Hi, is there anyway to edit the stats of a ship. Such as increase speed, increase the number of torpedoes? etc? thanks
for torpedoe editing
for the ships speed for to scripts/ships/Hardpoints the the ship you want to edit. (these files can be opened in a text based editer such as notpad) in this case we'll be editing the defiant by nine of nine.. look for the
ImpulseEngines = App.ImpulseEngineProperty_Create("Impulse Engines")
these are the "some" of the lines in this system the ones we want to edit to change the speed of the ship
ImpulseEngines.SetNormalPowerPerSecond(50.000000) ImpulseEngines.SetMaxAccel(5.500000) <--- how fast the ship gets moving ImpulseEngines.SetMaxAngularAccel(0.350000) <--- how fast it turns at max power output> ImpulseEngines.SetMaxAngularVelocity(0.900000) ImpulseEngines.SetMaxSpeed(9.000000) <---- how fast the ship goes
for editing the hardpoints, get the MPE (Model Property Editor) in the BC SDK avialable on BCfiles, it makes editing the speed, torpedo loads, shielding ect.... much easyer than manual (notepad) as you don't have to look at all those lines, just open the model, load the hardpoint, and select the system you want to edit, click edit, and change whatever you want. for the SDK just do a search for the SDk on bcfiles, there's also a good tutorial if you are having problems using it.
Yeah.. i shoulda said something about the SDK.. its just i don't like using them.. the numbers don't bother me, that and i like to know what things are being changed.... programs that do the changes for u just arent my type of thing

i edit all my ships in their py's thru notepad, personally...
Thats fine, but it makes phaser arc placement and coloring a tad tricky.
