I know he was ressurected in the book series, but its true, he's too old these days. If you haven't noticed, he's definately overweight. He looks Scotty now. Though it would be good to ressurected in a movie as it would bring back older audience members. Nemesis bombed in theatres, thats no lie, but as I remember it was number 1 in Canada for one entire week before Lord of the Rings came out. It would be a good idea to bring back the old ladies man but I think it may be too late, perhaps Spock could come back from Romulus and be involved in a story that ties into a previous TOS story, like the Keeper of Forever or whatever it was called that you could see into the past/present/future. I saw this in an old '80s comic book which involves the timeline being all screwed up.

No, Kirk is fine where he is (is in the sense of the films, not a few maverick books by actors, though they serve their purpose to those who would have wanted him back alive). It is time to move on and it would be better to remember him as he was than to have him ambling along on his zimmerframe towards the next battle, whereupon his nurse would take off his shirt and let him fight an ancient foe with walking sticks...

It is also a shame about Picard, but then again, he has said this before and if there is an appropriate chance, I'm sure Stewart would take it. But if not, then the trek legacy is large enough to boldly go to the next part of its story.

Where no story has gone before...

Perhaps they could do a trials and tribbleations peice together. but i think that would just ruin it. Kirk needs to stay dead. he died a meaningless death in Generations (Picard could have came back and kicked sorans ass alone, and if he lost he would always return to the nexus.) so i think they need to keep him dead. it passed the torch to the generations crew. if anything, they can do whatever they please in the books. just keep the movies as cannon as possible. since voyager and enterprise are screwin up trek so bad, don't even worrie bout movies for them unless they have there own set seperate from most trek.

Ashatay the Bluei want voyager movies! are you kidding me!?!?! voy was the best one

Screw that!!! I'd rather sit through another horrid TNG movie. There are 3 possibilities for new movies. Enterprise (too young, if you ask me), Voyager (too few people really like it and the actors don't want to come back anyway), and DS9. I am for DS9. I'm glad Patrick Stewart is out, as I never like Picard too much anyway. Lacked balls. I used to have a link to a list of over 1000 reasons that Kirk was better than Picard and #1 was "One word: balls." Anyway, Shatner is too old to reprise the role. His books did that for him. I thought they were good and were very skillfull at representing Kirk as we all love him. After all, Shatner knew Kirk the best. And, thanks to Shatner, my beloved Ent-A flew again. I now know how she ended up, may she rest in peace. As far as movies go, Kirk's dead, Picard might as well be. Last good Trek movie was ST:VI.
