Might have been discussed before, it might have been dismissed as not possible, but I think the one thing that would really add to the BC Universe is the odd spatial anamoly cropping up from time to time in QB perhaps, perhaps you warp to an unknown system and lo and behold a spatial anamoly hit's you. NANOFX2 seems the sort of thing to make it possible, given Nanobyte's excellent creativeness in this area, he'd be well classed too acheive it, and after watching the most excellent third season of Enterprise, I think the guardians time displacement anamolies would be really cool, maybe Nano could turn his explosion wave into a dangerous anamoly similar to that of the Guardians, it would be interesting too see bit's fly off the hull, areas crumpled and so on. Imagine that you're outclassed by a bigger vessel and the only place too run is into an anamoly, sure it would wreck your ship, but chances are it would do more damage to the much larger pursuer. Just an idea...;)

Yes that would be a good idea! It could mess with your hull, the problem is bc has hardpoints which would mean if the anomolie was built like a station, you would collide with it (not wot we want), if it was shaped as a torpedo it would dissapear after you colide with it... hmmm

Could you make it as a nebula but with no color? That might work...

it'd have to have color so you could manually navigate around them

make it like a field of anomolies like the ones enterprise experienced that travis coudl navigate but the nebulas are the right way to do it

Never thought about Nebula's, it's been so long since I played the single player of BC that I almost forgot about the Nebula in there, personally I think a small group of nebula's that are transparent to the eye, but seem too distort space once you're in them would be pretty nifty, if I remember right, the nebula you are in before you find the wrecked warbird would do damage to your ship, perhaps something along these lines.

Given that the modders here have done such an excellent job of 'pushing the envelope' with BC, I bet they could create their own 'delphic expanse' and make it look far more interesting then the stock nebula's in single player, maybe throw in a few bright flashes of lightning and give it a real eerie feel, i.e real quiet...then a big boom of thunder, the light's on the bridge turned down, and the anamoly's light changing the way the bridge lighting is done.

Obviously, crumpling a ship ala Enterprise may not be possible, but maybe random failure's of the ships systems might be good, and one other thing, has anyone ever attempted failing nacelle's before, ya know where the blue parts flicker on and off and then eventually die, again something else that might add to the anamoly experience!

now thats a good idea! they should also flicker and die out if they take a direct weapon hit to.

RemanWarbirdnow thats a good idea! they should also flicker and die out if they take a direct weapon hit to.

Unfortunately, I get the impression ideas like this are not pursued, perhaps due to it being more difficult than it sounds or no one willing too take it on, it seems a strange thing, but most times we have a situation where people like myself (who dream up new things, but are unable to do much about it) will submit ideas, and those that have the skills but don't want to try it as it was not their idea. I've lurked on these boards for helluva long time, and i've seen what's possible, and too a degree BC's scope for new amazing things seems almost infinite, and that's down to the unique abilities of some amazing modders. Sadly, they only seem interested in modding ships, aside from Nanobyte's much heralded NANOFX2, it look's like no one else is willing too try, so I kinda hope Nano is reading this (if you are...fancy a crack at it?). It really would be a shame if nobody exploited the opportunity.;)

I wouldn't say this is true.

Dasher42 - Foundation aka Dynamic Tables, Sol (Solar System) USS Apollo - Advanced Technologies (He's also got a working wormhole in the works) Nanobyte - NanoFX, BCMP, BCMI Sneaker98 - MVAM, Core Eject, Plasma Rupture Sleight32 - Launching Framework, Multi Targeting Admiral_Ames (ME) - Cloaked Firing, Holo Generator, Gemini Effect, Blind Fire NXDefiant - QBAutostart (Includes many smaller mods like the MP3 player, Abandon Ship, Transporter, etc.) Various Bridges - Viper Leader, Cpt. LC Amaral, The DreamYards/Arts Team

I could go on forever

Its just that scripting and bridge making is far harder than modding ships. Its also way less interesting for most people.
