Star Trek: Exploration - The mod

A new Bridge commander mod featuring both enhancements to Single Player Games, and Multiplayer.

Based on the short stories from Star Trek: Exploration

- 27 new campaign missions - 8 new races - Dynamtic Universe, allows the player complete freedom to explore. - The lastest Modifications allowing Starship Seperation. - Dynamic Terrain, Nebula's with exploding gas pockets, Event horizon around black holes, moving and spinning astroids, fights in the atmosphere of gas giants. - Planets with targetable cities and atmospheres - New cutscene's - A new crew with fully acted voices - Ability to leave the Bridge and interact with crew in other key sections of the ship. - Scripted phaser fire fights on the bridge as enemy troops attempt to take the ship. - Launch and command shuttles on away missions - Defend a colony world and outpost from hostile attack

Probly when holodecks come this would take ages hehe but sounds good if you can pull it off:)

actually i've seen Kenjar throw a very detailed and complex mod (KUU) in no time at all. I think it's a good idea.

Well I personally can't wait for all the new functionality. Is there a website, or forum of some kind for this mod? Or do you have any screenshots for us yet?

And I answer my ealier question by saying that it will at least take a year, as it uses WalkFX: Imersion to walk to different parts of the ship. This mod isn't schedualed for release untill 2008 sometime. Daedalus

Yes, I am considering Immersion, but 2008 is a long time, however I have been working for some time on my own version. It's not as advanced as Immersion, it's not an FPS addion it's lit just click a button and watch the character move from his seat on the bridge, to the turbo lift, (with optional esc button to skip the animation) then walk into engineering take up as position with various crew members hovering around, and click on them to get a function menu. The fire fights again would be something watched rather then participated in.

No I don't have any screenshots yet because I don't have a model for engineering, the conference room or the captains ready room. I might add one for sick bay much later in development, but those are the key area's I want covered.

This means that I need to teach myself how to make bridge models, which I admit I've never done before.

For a the moment I am finishing off the first installment of Star Trek: Exploration (draft version at http://www.dcforeman.co.uk/index.php?option=com_weblinks&catid=17&Itemid=29)

For the moment, I want to keep the space sim aspect of the mod the main interactive part of the game, the rest will be to convay a story. I am even considering having the player moved from captains position to helm, or tactical, because it makes more sense to have the player in one of these positions directly influancing the ship by either using the blind fire mod to aim manually, or having helm proform evasive manuvers when ordered and lining torpedo tubes or getting a damaged shield out of harms way.This is just a consideration of cause.

Are there any other questions, or suggestions even?

There will be a website appearing in the next couple of hours, screenshots, and news will appear here.

Just one small suggestion Kengar, I would also love to see a shuttle bay, and when a shuttle is launched, you watch it fly out, preferably NOT in a cutscene. Daedalus

I think that would be an utter nightmare to achive. To be honest I wouldn't know where to begin. The best I could do is a scripted cut scene I think.

Oh well, just something I thought I'd mention. Would it be possible in the mod, to fly in the atmospheres of small planets? there wouldn't need to be a lot of texturing done, you could just loop them around the planet, or a small moon. It would be excellent if you could just take a shuttle down from a ship and blow up a town or city. . . Daedalus
