Every now and then I find references in things like POTD and such as to turning on anti aliasing and anistrophic filtering, as stuff like that isn't in the main graphics options menu or in the config file im wondering if anyone can tell me how to turn them on, or if im just speaking rubbish

thanks

Well, you do it in your graphics cards control panel. Its CATALYST Control Center for ATI, don't know about the others though.

If it nvidia, there should be a nvidia tray icon (or you can right click on the desktop). From the control panel, go to "Manage 3D settings". From there, you can set global or just program based graphics settings.

ATi is similar, find the tray icon for CCC (catalyst control center). In there, find 3d settings and change what you wish.
