I feel very dumb/guilty asking all these newb questions, but I never fugured out a way to reinstall the game without loosing my save games. I tried copying them into the new install, but they wouldn't work, so I'm just wondering if there is a way.

Umm that is strange.... but I admit that I have never tried anything of the sort. The obvious thing would be to copy the "saves" folder to a safe place, then uninstall, and then delete the directory. Then install again and the patch and the other mods you had installed at the time of the save. What happens when you try to load a saved game? Does it not even appear on the menu or does it give a black screen?

it doesnt work at all sorry to say. However, if you use "test mode" or "mission Select" then you can start at the same postions as a saved game. Thats what i do all the time.

? People, there must be something you do wrong. But...Maybe it is because you had some mods installed on your old copy that you havn't on your new one, thats why it is not working?

The way i figured it is this.

If you have no mods and just plain simple bc 1.1 and uninstall then reinstall game your saves should work. But if u had a mod like a new hp say for sov and then tried playing missions after the reinstall with out that mod your missions wont work

hope this helps

I know this works in both armada 1 and 2, so you would think it would work in BC as well. Perhaps there is more to the saved games than the saved folder?

Uss_Donoghue[/QUOTE] new HP or Models doesn't crash the game. The Models together with the HP's and some other stuff are also stored in the save files.

Yes, If your old BC install was not broken with save games - as well as your new install.

Please note that the old Launching Framework (withour Mutator) also kills saving & loading, even if you don't use it, so I recommend upgrading this to the new Mutator based one.
