So, after watching all the videos of Star Trek Excalibur repeatedly for the past few months, I brushed the dust of my Bridge Commander disk and installed the game again on my current beast of a machine (compared to what I used to play BC on)
Just the plain vanilla version of the game just is not playable. I get what looks like a slideshow with audio from the game. I'm really hoping that this isn't just an old game that will not run on newer hardware. Any tips or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
My rig specs are: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Core i7 930 6GB DDR3 RAM Nvidia GTX295 <- With latest drivers installed
Here are some of the things I've tried already: Reducing graphics settings Using compatibility settings to emulate XP, disable visual themes etc Disabling Multi GPU mode Running as Admin Disabling AA Forcing Enabling AA Disabling V Sync Forcing V Sync
Really hope that I can play this game again, it was my favourite Star Trek game

i have pretty much the same system specs as you and BC runs just fine for me; in fact, it should run excellently for you...
i would recommend you post this thread over at BCC in the BC General forum to get advice from people there...
also, you may want to include a description of any mods you installed...
:D Yeah its been a while huh?
Far too long. =p
Gonna stick about?
Gonna try to. I miss being part of the community, I started thinking of my time at armada2files and I got very nostalgic! Then that whole irc meet up that time was great craic, so here I am!
You need to stop having such a busy social schedule for sure. =p
Not as busy as it once was! Though I am off to Munich on Wednesday for the Oktoberfest!
