I recently bought BC and I went online and found a bunch of awesome mods like redistribute shields and repair destroyed systems. But all of them needed something called "QB Autostart" so I DLed that and extracted it in the rite place. Then it asked for a mutator to be activated.

... What's that?

To get anything done you need the foundation. It comes with BCMI. BCMI final, Bridge Commander Downloads, Bridge Commander Mod Installers Once that is installed you will have a new button under configuremenu named "Mutators" From there you can activate and deactivate any mods you have installed.

I DLed that, along with BCMP and packaged and installed a mod. But there's no mutator button, and everytime i launch BCMP, it says i don't have foundation and installs it for me. It's installed like 7 times already.

What do I do now?

...make sure you have the patch and absolutely nothing else in your install before putting in either KM 1.0 or the foundation, otherwise there will be problems. After installing either KM 1.0 (which includes the mods you're after plus much more) or the foundation on its own, run the game and click the configure button. There you should, if all has gone right, the mutators button. Click on that and you will be lead to the mutators. Those with a yellow dot before them are active, those without are inactive. Click to activate/deactivate them.

I think they are yes, though the patch is recommended anyway, but KM does come with foundation, I think 0.9 did too...

without the BC1.1 Patch, altho things may seem fine, the chances of having errors, problems, crashes, etc is greatly increased... and most of the time, KM will not run without the 1.1 patch... so youre at your own risk by not simply downloading and installing it first... so it is really bad advice to encourage anyone they don't need the patch, even if your install may seem ok...

and yes, KM1 comes with the Foundation...

I agree with you Jimmy. I had to install KM 1.0 over 15 times. Because, I didn't follow the recommended installation. Your install may work fine now. But that's not a guaranteed of the game not crashing down the road. When you try to mod it. Or The KM Team puts out a patch. Another bit of "good" advice is to always make a back up of the scripts folder. When you install a mod and get the Black Screen of Death (BSOD)? You can delete the scripts folder and the Options.cfg file and unzip your back up. -BR32
