I installed bridge commander, patched to 1.1 and installed the full version of Bridge Commander Mod Packer and updated that. I read the readme files for the ships that I downloaded but their advice on how to install the ships doesn't even work. And a lot of them don't even have install instructions. What am I missing? I just want to go into battle simulation mode and be able to pick them. Is that even possible? Any help would be really appreciated because I just spent three hours trying to get all of these files working.

Foundation installed? Everything extracted to the right folder? Did you run BCMP (select ship, choose race, make plugin)?

I don't have foundation installed, i'll go get that. I have everything extracted to the right folder, I am pretty sure. and I did run BCMP but I don't have any idea how to use it. So far all the ships I have downloaded have made me install them manually.

Foundation makes it possible to mod bc BCMP: Needed for ships you have to install manually (see post above or readme) BCMI: Needed for ships packed in BCmod format (doubleclick file...and done)

I would also recommend to install Qbautostartextension 0.9 (bcfiles) becasue lots of new scripts require this as well.

Thank you, I finally got a bunch of ships installed and working. Time to get working on my collection, haha. It seems like it is very easy to break the game though. With all of these mods and files I have downloaded, I have to be careful with my settings because doing certain things seems to make the game crash a lot.

Once you get the hang of things, you may want to check out a few of the more popular modpacks. These give loads of ships/scripts all in one download are quite a bit more stable than just piling on random ships. Still, it's tough.
