Hello

I'm am some what new to the whole process of installing a vessel onto Bridge Commander. Recently I have downloaded a Charleston class starship which is a zip file. Can anyone assist me on the aspects of installing a ship. I understand that a zip file is apparently hard to install, so as do not want to screw the game up I would greatly appreciate any assistance anyone has to offer. Thankyou in advance

First of all, you should make a back up of the folder data, scipts and sfx. Simply copy them into a new folder. The next step is to install the foundation plugin. You should download the newest version. After installing the foundation, try to run BC. If it works update your back up. Unzip the mod into a temporary folder. Copy the folder from the temporary folder into your BC folder. I think this should be the minimum to do. Run BC. If it works search under "Other Ships" for your mod. Try to fly your mod. If it works, too, then you are ready. But you can use the Mod Packager (download from: http://members.shaw.ca/nanobyte/BCMP-BETA-v4.4-FULL.zip), too. After copying the folder into your BC, run the Mod Packager. Click "Game Tools". Select your mod from the list on the right. In the drop-down "Species" you can select the species of the ship (Intrepid -> Federation). Then click "Make Plugin". With the "Checker" you check if the ship is ok. Then you can run BC. After installing a working ship you should update your back up. Otherwise it is possible that you can start at the beginning if you install a ship that doen't work.
