I really want to use LC's ambassador pack but I keep getting an error in BCMP telling me a file is missing. Then it automaticaly disables the ships and won't let me put them back it. The thing is I use that program all the time to disable ships and such and I can't do that and play Lc's pack without going in and manualy re-installing the ships then never going into BCMP again... How can I fix this?
It is a problem with BCMP. Not everyone sticks uncompiled hardpoints in their packs (especially big downloads) and the filechecker doesn't realise this. I haven't got the ambassador pack, so I can't say whether or not the py's are included as well as the pyc's, but if they aren't, then you could use the Model Property Editor on bcfiles to get the py's from the pyc's, then the files will no longer be missing. The general advice given on here when this problem crops up is never use BCMP filechecker! There are lots of ships out there that filechecker has a problem with.
I don't use the file checker but when I go to install new ships with it it automaticaly disables LC's ships and won't let me re-enable it so its eaither any time I want to install a new ship I also have to re-install LC's ships... So I guess I'll have to do that....
Ah, just me jumping to wrong conclusions as usual. Check the comments for the ambassador pack (versions 1.0 and 2.0) to see further discussion on this problem and others. There are fixes for some of the problems, I think...
lcs ambassador pack uses sub menus.. BCMP doesnt recognise the code relating to sub menus and so it disables the ships. the same "problem" should occur for the SNS galaxies
Yup, you should avoid using BCMP if at all possible.
But I need it to install ships that don't come in BCMI format don't I? How can I avoid using it?
