I'm having a problem tweaking my ships. The plugins i make for QB work fine, but when i try to rebalance the Sovereign for the single player missions, the game crashes and i get an error message telling me the "memory cannot be 'read'" or "the memory cannot be 'written'", there seems to be no reason why i get one error over the other. Is this a simple mistake or is it impossible to replace the SP Mission sovereign with my rebalanced one? I've already followed Elminsters advice from the modding forum on how to replace SP mission ships, but the error persists.
The only thing I can think of is have you altered the read/write permissions on the files your hardpoints are in? Although the sov does alter its hardpoints during the mission (from not having to having quantums) perhaps this is conflicting in some unknown way?
I thought of that as well. On a fresh install all ship and hardpoint scripts are not marked as read only, those i edit are also not marked. I've read that Bridge commander has a "memory leak". I'll try compiling the python scrypts i edit and reducing video resolution to 1024x860, perhaps that will fix the problem. Any other suggestions would be helpful though. And, thank you.
That wouldn't cause your problem.
I would run a disk check to make sure your hard drive is ok.
Also you should use the MPE to edit your hardpoints.
