Im new to this game and have a few questions. I have read through the FAQ but i cant make head nor tail of it after the night on the ale i had! he he!

Right here goes...

1) What are the top 3 or so mods to get for this? Ive just d/l Sneaker98's Mvam Infinite. Any good? Id like something like an all in one, you know loads of ships and new features but failing that just the top mods.

2) How do i use these mods? I have no idea how to get them to work or if u need another prog to get them to work? I know that question has prob been asked a million times but im eager to know. Thanks!

3) Can u combine mods? Say have 2 working together at the same time?

4) These new features are they for the multiplay only or what?

5) Can you have new missions?

Thanks very much for all help. As you can see im VERY new to this game. Thanks again

6) Any way to slow down the ultra fast movement of the mouse? I dont wanna alter the windows speed i wanna change in game speed.

:bows:

PS. I have just d/l something called bcmi. Guess i need that to run mods right?

For BCMI to install your mod, make sure the path it is set up to use includes the Bridge Commander folder, for example (C:\Program Files\Activision\Bridge Commander). When I first set mine up, I was dumping the mods into the Activision folder, so they didn't work. Open BCMI manually, use it to search for your mod and make sure the path looks something like my example, then install it. To install other mods after that, just double clicking the file (if it is a bcmi file) will run the installer. If you don't like the mod, there will be a new folder called "Uninstall BC-Mods" in the "Bridge Commander" folder. Double click the uninstall file for the mod and its gone.

I would suggest you read through all the threads in the forum and take notes. Some mods don't work with others, and some mods rely on other mods. As far as the "top" mods, it's really a matter of taste, but IMHO, NANOFX2 is great if you have a powerful PC. I hosed up my game adding too many mods without backing things up and had to wipe and reload the game, so now I keep it simple. I load one mod at a time and test it out before adding any more. Try starting off just installing some new ships. Good luck and have fun.

I installed that perticular mod into the directory u said and its not found it. Strange....

but when i go into the game it mentions something that i have to tick in one of the menus. This was mentioned in the readme. But the mod does not show up in BCMI.

Where would i get these mods u speak off? I am currently looking through the files but i cant find NanoFX2 anywhere. DOHH

Thanks for help so far! :cya:

1, as for top mods, id have to say NanoFX 2 beta and MVAM 2. for all in one mods, u could get something like the 1.2b, 1.3b, or 1.4 patchs, which are communly used to play online and contain some nice ships 2, to get the mods to work, get the 1.1 patch, get BCMI, it will install foundation(something need to use most mods) and it will install any mods in BCMOD format, also get BCMOD packager, because some mods need to be added to the ingame menus, this will allow u to do so, and also, winRAR because some mods are compressed in winRAR format 3, most mods work together fine, but sometimes they dont, ull just have to expearament with em 4, ships yes, Nano fx2 and other, idont think so 5, yeah,... not too many out the but theyre there 6, dunnno what u mean Most of the stuff i mentioned can be found at http://bc.filefront.com/

Ive got 1.1 on, and downloaded BCMI no probs. Got Nano FX 2 on as well and it works.

I dont see how to get mvaminfinite working. I def put it in the right place and i see an option in game menu for it to turn on but i cant seem to see anything added. It does not appear in the Nano menu. Maybe its that BCMOD thing u were on about?

If i download ships can i use them? Or are they just to fire at in Battlemode (or what ever the skirmish is called in BC)?

Thanks for the help with the many questions!

:)

Some mods yes, the ones with a BCMOD files are the ones you need BCMI for, but for the ships that have the data/scripts/sfx files, for those you need BCMP

No, MVAM Infinite does not need BCMI to install it, just copy the data/scripts/sfx files into your BC directorty, start up BC, go to options/mutators and you should see the MVAM mutator option, turn it on, go into Quickbattle, in the federation ships section you should now see ships called "MVAMGalaxy" and "MVAMPrometheus" those are the ships that have MVAM capability, just start quickbattle with one of those ships, and it should work.

If i download ships can i use them? Or are they just to fire at in Battlemode (or what ever the skirmish is called in BC)?

Yes you can use them, when you get the quickbattle setup menu, just pick any ship that you want to use as your ship and you can use it.

Ive just installed BCMI and placed the directory structure of mvamin into the default directory. I then went into BCMI to activate the mod (is that right?) and its not found it.

no thats not right, once the BCMOD file says that it's installed, simply start up BC and go to options/mutators and activate all of them.
