My copy of BC has been working fine until tonight. I installed several ships prior to this and they all have worked correctly for the most part, but for whatever reason my BC stopped working tonight.
I installed the G'quan, Victory and battle-crab mods tonight. After opening the game, instead of receiving the intro screens it just sat there. eventually after a minute or so my in game cursor would show up but nothing else. (according to my CAD menu it was running properly and hadn't stopped responding) any idea as to why this would happen?
even going back and removing those mentioned ships didn't help.:uhm: In the end I had to do a full reinstall. the game now functions properly and foundation installed without a problem, but for some reason it will not recognize nanofx2.0beta as being installed this time. the option for it does not show up under mutators. (I had no problem at all the first time, and I re-extracted from the exact same .rar file)
I've tried reinstalling the entire game twice and nanofx by itself many times with no success. any thoughts?
(On my first install, I noticed a folder called bc-mods was created in my root directory with uninstall options for foundation and nanofx, this folder hasn't appeared this time..)
any help is greatly appreciated
sigh, 40 views and no one has any idea then..?
I tried doing a full re-install..again.. installing BC, patching it, installing foundation and then adding nanofx. same result as before, theres no option to turn on nanofx under mutators.
I even re-downloaded nanofx and tried using that copy but it didn't help. This is really rather frustrating. Any help would be appreciated...:uhm:

even tried to put the folders on the right place?? sometimes in winrar when you choose extract to that location it wil extract in that folder a new folder named after the rarfile and extracts the files in there

Sometimes (mosttimes) I find it best to unrar or unzip into a Temp folder and copy and paste contents over

sAfter you uninstall BC with the Uninstall tool, do you go to your BC directory and delete any remaining files? I know it's pretty routine, but when I first started with BC, I didn't know about it.
Yea I use a temp folder for files and made sure to clean up the remaining folders after un-installing manually.
Either way I figured it out eventually. I got the black screen at start up again after installing my second ship (the whitestar) so I'm just avoiding that mod. T The problem with nanofx was, for whatever reason the installer tool wasn't installing the files into the BC directory. So after finding where they were being installed I just cut 'n pasted 'em.
The first time I used it it installed correctly. Actually, wait, no it didn't. the damage fx and a few other things were installed properly the first time with the auto-installer. but it seems the warp core explosion and some other things I've noticed after manually copying the files weren't.... weird.
anyway, thanks for the replies :)
