So, I've spent at least 6 hours playing with this !)#*@!*@#)(! game trying to get some mods to work to improve my SP experience.

I install Koshibu Maru, only to find out its not supposed to be 'SP compatable' - which WASNT in the read me. So I...

....have to reinstall the game.

Then I install the new Supermod Single Player mod, and the game doesn't start up - black screen of death, yellow cursor. So I...

....have to reinstall the game.

So I try /just NanoFX 2 Beta/... And I get a Black Screen of Death and a yellow cursor, again. (Was NanoFX included with the Supermod? I suspect it was and this is the same problem.)

I don't want to go through two bloody pages of instructions to get a script report. Has anyone else had this problem with NanoFX?

Or should I just throw this bloody monitor through a wall? (No, not really!) - and play single player and avoid all these mods?

Ok, I got pissed and did the -TestMode thing anyways. As far as I can tell, it isn't working. I press ~ and I'm not seeing any console window appear. Its just an empty black screen - not even a yellow cursor anymore, though I know of no reason that should be so.

The only time that ever happened to me (the -TestMode thing) was when I was trying to work out the formatting on it. You might want to check that. As for the main problem, I have no idea. But to save all the reinstalling, copy a clean version and don't add anything to it. Then, when you get a BSOD, just copy and paste the clean one and delete the non working one.

Lol, he won't like you for saying that... Anyways, do you have foundation and .NET installed? If you do, then go through everything mod by mod. You might also want to download the NanoFX bug fixes...

Yes, I do, thank you. I needed to install them (as well as the mod manager and mod packager) in order to do the NanoFX installation. Also, I've managed to get the cursor to appear again, it appears about half the time now, and I have - as far as I can tell - enabled the console mode correctly. Its just -TestMode, correct? Also, I should have mentioned this beforehand, but I downloaded the bug fixes /before/ I tried posting to this forum.

You need the space between the ' and the -Testmode. So it becomes ''.....stbc.exe'_-TestMode' where the _ is a space. Does that make sense?

also..when installed...backup the clean install folder to another place...when your install is crashing you can simply replace the folder ;)
