Ok here's the deal. BC keeps on crashing to the desktop on me. And when I try to load a save, I get a stbc.exe error (asking me to send data to microsoft). Now it played fine when I turned nanofx2 off, the load error still happened though, the game just didn't crash. I got one good system too. I have: Win XP Home 1.8 ghz P IV 512 mb RDRAM Geforce 3 (latest drivers) Sound Blaster Live Value I also have .net 1.1, patch 1.1, and bcmi1.0 Do I just need to do a compatibility switch to Win 98 or something?
No...it's a random bug. The crash happens to me to randomly. ;)
SmasherMasterNo...it's a random bug. The crash happens to me to randomly. ;)
Is there any known way to fix it? I really want to enjoy BC and nanofx, but I don't really want to keep on starting over each time I play. Also now it's becoming more prone to one point in time. After I undock from the shipyard (at the very beginning) it crashes.
That's odd...Never hapens to me when I undock. Try disableing it thruogh the mutators menu and try again.
You can't load a saved game. Not once you install nano FX 2beta. you have to start over. It's an annoying bug, buts probably going to be fixed. Has nothing to do with your system. as far as undocking unheard of to me. Also. If you' looked arond the forums alittle bit. you'd hae found these same questions. as a matter of fact, there was just a new thread yesterday started about this same question...
Wow, what do you know - I just got on these forums to look for this very issue. Is it NanoFx? I was starting to think I had a faulty CD or something. I play QuickBattle ALL the time, and at totally random points (though many occur when there are many ships) my game will lag very badly - and just die, CTD.. Sianara, and "Please tell MS"
So... this isn't just me, this is good.... is it Nano? Or is it my PC?
Its BC, its has a memory leak. So the more ships and mods you have, the more likely it is to happen. For example the 10th NanoFX explosion usually bombs my game.
