I recently purchased a new HP desktop, upgrading from my old Windows XP single core AMD 64 Gateway. BC ran okay, but the frames would drop when there were a lot fo ships and Nano FX ran kinda slow. So, for this and other reasons I bought the new PC. Here are the specs.

AMD Phenom quad-core 2.2ghz processor 3GB DDR2 RAM ATI Radeon HD 3850 512mb 1440x900 resolution

I just installed the HD 3850 today and loaded up BC first, and I noticed some weird problems. The stock game's intro video would go to a black screen whenever there was text (like the credits and subtitles) on the screen. You could only see the text. When the text faded away, the video would come back. This isnt a problem now that I installed KM 1.0

However, I also noticed whats seen in the screen shot. The animations are missing in the menu. This happened in the stock game as well as a clean install of KM 1.0.

I had to run the game in administrator & Windows XP compatibility mode to get KM 1.0 to work properly, so the game itself is flawless. I am just wondering whats up with the menu. Any ideas?

I run BC on my Dell laptop with Vista and an Nvidia 7900GS

my guess would be to update the video card drivers

my game runs smooth, but still has the occassional crashes

If i remember correctly i think it has something to do with the resolution it is at. I remember on my HP when i changed it to a certain resolution the videos would disappear. I just ignored it as it wasnt a major thing. Can i ask what resolution it is at?

I'm running at 1440x900 on a widescreen 19". I don't think that is the problem though. I ran at the same resolution with my ATI X850 Pro and had no such problem.

I think jb was saying more that BC doesn't like it! Try running BC at a lower resolution, see if that helps!

EDIT: Sorry, just re-read your post and realised that mine makes no sense! Can someone delete please!
