When I try to install the patch it says I already have it, is that possible? Yeah and don't you need the patch so mods work? 'Cause all of them that I've tried don't work... At first I thought it might be Vista so I tried installing it on my brothers computer (Which is XP) but it did the same thing with the patch. So any help would be nice.

my computer says the same thing, I think it is a later version of the game that was patched before release. I have never needed the patch for mods to work

Hmm... Ok thanks Nikin.

And is there really any thing I need to download to make mods work? Yeah, I just tried it on my brothers computer and mods don't seem to work on his either so I must be doing some thing wrong...

Yes, the Foundation is required for anything to work. Two ways to get it: 1) Download KM and install that straight into your instal, it includes the foundation as well as loads of other mods. 2) Get either BCMP or BCMI and run them once. They will check your install and offer to put the foundation in if it isn't in there.

Once that is done, run the game, go to 'configure' in the main menu and you'll see a button called mutators. Click on it, and you'll be taken to the mutators buttons section. Activate the ones you want (eq extra ships and stations etc) and those mods will become active.

Some mods require plugins and other things to get them in the game. Star Trek Bridge Commander Ship Menu Creator, available at Bridge Commander, Bridge Commander Downloads - FileFront.com will do this for you, just open it, assign race etc and the ship/whatever will be added to your game.

Also, always check out requirements, requirements of requirements and so on...

And, most imprtantly, do you know what the two above-mentioned pieces are? :P 1. Two (now slightly out-dated) programs for installing mods in full. Found here and here. (the first link is for the updated BCMP) 2. When you install one of the first two, a menu will appear in BC for you to turn certain mods on and off.
