Hey all.

Please help if you can – hoping to play tonight! :)

Been playing bridge commander on and off since it was released, somehow keeps me coming back. Anyway, I want to play the single player mode again with some cool new ships, I found a mod for the Prometheus for single player that uses the MVAM infinite 2 system. SPprometheus -

Well the mvam system works fine in quick battle, but in single player the screen either goes blank, or I’ll get in the game but with a view screen showing nothing, then the game will crash and need to be reinstalled. – I know I’m not the only one who has had the problem, many others had it in the comments post for MVAM infinite, I was just wondering if there’s a fix?. – I have tried reinstalling 4 times, changing mods, ect.

If there’s no fix can anyone suggest some other single player ships (more powerful than stock) that I can use to replace the galaxy/sov in SP?.

I have installed

EOL Deluxe (latest)

MVAM infinite 2

BC 1.1 official

BCMI final

Nanofx 2 beta.

Thanks!.

Either or it wouldn't work the sp game belives that if you mvam, then you have left the system. Then you lose the game.

Anyone know if theres a way to use an mvam ship in single player without the mvam function, so it wont crash?

if i remember rightly the is a mod on bcfiles that lets you play mvam in singleplayer as well as a mod that replaces the galaxy(coolest ship ever) with a nebula and the promethius replaces the sovereign, also it may be eol that is causing the problem a bad install has caused me problems a complete reinstall may solve your problems,at least i hope i have helped.

reinstalling the game is almost never necessary, incidentally... practically all problems can be fixed -and always remember to make backups before making any changes... as far as changing sp ships, this can easily be done with a few slight script changes to the maelstrum folder... while i haven't tried sp with mvam 2.0, mvam 1.0 galaxy always worked fine for me way back when it was first released (as well as any other ship i tried)... this thread explains how: http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=79864

The mod that allows you to replace the SP Galaxy with the MVAM Galaxy works fine, it's the one that replaces the Sov with the MVAM Prometheus that'll give you problems. Since you Sov replacement gives you problems, try one of the other mods that replace the SP ships (there's one that gives you the Defiant instead), or use a Replacement ship (CG Sov, P81 Sov, etc.)

Thank guys. I assume when you replace a ship by changing the script file galaxy.pyc or sov.pyc it changes the hardpoints/phasers aswell?. I'll give that all a try, was hoping to use mvam prom, oh well will search for another ship on bcfiles, as the sp prometheus mod didn't work.

Thanks for the help.

Personally, I wouldn't go messing with the script files myself. I'd just go with the mods that are already out there, and work. There's too much of a chance that everything would go wrong. But it's your call, of course ;). The mods that do replace the ship, replace everything. The hardpoints, models, etc. The cinematics are also changed to include whatever ship you're using. The only thing that isn't is the Bridge.

Thanks for the help.

Can anyone tell me if the mvam galaxy has increased shield/firepower over the stock galaxy?. also can anyone recomend some of the best ship upgrades to replace the galaxy/sov in single player. No god ships, just something with some extra firepower:D.
