I have made a profile for Bridge Commander with Game Commander 2.. (great app for this particular game, btw).. the only problem is, there are so many commands i still have to use the mouse for, like switching between photon and quantum torpedoes, or orbiting a planet, or actually tell the tactical officer to start firing at will.. I can't figure out how I would go about doing this, because there isn't any key bindings for those particular commands.. I've been primarily playing this game with 'JoytoKey' and a joystick, but this Game Commander is perfect for sitting in the captains chair.. But I honestly wish it was completely hands free. Any advice? There are only a few commands I would actually want, such as switching torpedoes, 'fire at will', 'go to starbase 12'. I have found a simple solution to select options within each officer's menu.. i binded 'up' 'down' 'left' and 'right', and i can navigate those menu's with voice, but i can't seem to navigate the other sub menu's, like raising the power to the shields/weapons/etc.. Is there any way to add new entries into the 'controller configuration'? I doubt it would be easy, so maybe there is something i am overlooking? Thanks for the help.
Unfortunately there are so many key and mouse commands you can bind into game commander. After all the controls have been bound to voice.... you must use whatever is left over with your keyboard or hand. Switching torpedoes would be one of them. http://screenshots.filesnetwork.com/8/others/reference_card.jpg there is a map layout of all the keyboard commands that you can bind. But if i remember right 80% of them have already been put into game commander. Edit: Here is the other keyboard commands that you can bind. it might be more helpful then the one from the BC Manual. http://screenshots.filesnetwork.com/8/others/controlsbc.jpg
Heh, always liked that last one. All I need is an LCARS touch panel keyboard and I can be on my way.
i know this is off topic, and please excuse me, but i think this would be some what fun to mention..... At my school, we are makeing a touch screen keyboard with Lcars interface capability (cuz we are all computer star trek nerds). it would attach into the same port as a keyboard, and act exactly the same. just bind the lcars commands to the keyboard commands. You have a Lcars interface.... neat aint it :-D
Lol, just pack it up and I'll buy one! :deal: :D
