I've been having a problem with the Refit Constitution Pack from Zambie Zan. At first I thought it was a problem with my hardware, but it only happens when I'm using the ships in that pack, or at least the TMP versions (haven't really played with the TNG ships in the pack). Nor has it happened with any other mod and I've installed and played with at least a hundred mods over the past few years. It seems to happen when firing or when taking a hit. Occasionally (sometimes very frequently and other times not so frequently) the screen and sounds freeze and a window appears back on the desktop. It's one of those send or don't send error report windows. It says something about resetting my accelerator because it was no longer responding to drive commands. I'll try to get the exact wording when it happens again. BC itself won't crash, but it really slows things down and it can happen every few battles, or every few seconds in a single battle. Does anyone have an idea what's going on?

What video card do you have? Sometimes this happens with my Radeon9800pro in very intensive skirmishes in Battlefield2, but only when overclocked. The card gets too hot and stops responding, so the ATi software automatically resets the board to its default clock rate but normally everything gets screwed up and I need to reboot. So basically its a heat problem, at least in my case. Never happened in BC.

I think that's probably the problem. I've noticed that the base of the monitor on my laptop heats up like crazy, even if I'm simply surfing the web. I'm just not sure why it only has happened to me on BC, and only when I'm using the refit constitution pack. With other mods it usually just starts to get choppy, or at worse the program crashes.
