I am having kind of the same problem. On my system Bridge Commander starts to load but then I get two errors: First is a "D3D Render Creation Error" Desired Full Screen mode not supported (It was working fine a couple weeks sgo)......Then I get a C++ Runtime error. I have tried everything from reinstalling BCMD to updating graphics drivers (Or un-updating if they are all new) and Direct X's. Totally stumped....Any help would be great.

Restart your computer, that fixes that error for me. If tht doesn't work, delete your config file, if that doesn't work press start, then run and type dxdiag, and see if you can find the error there.
If you have installed "advanced tech pack" try to uninstall it... when i installed it it also broke my BC
That didn't happend to me!
i fixed that problem all you need to do is right click on the desktop reset the resolution as 800 X 600 then press Aplly and OK next uninstall bridge commander and delete directX now install directX from another game (such as star trek starfleet command 3) now install bridge commander and play away.
Also be advised that the .ops config file in the original game is prone to crash if you like to play on-line. Using numbers and brackets in your player name will crash the game. The Official BC Patch resolves this problem. This file can be found in the archives at BCfiles.
