I SERIOUSLY need help.... (This is a message to other people who might of been able to help...they lead me here to the forums) 'Hi, i'm completely new to BC downloading (Maps, ships, mods, etc) and i have no clue...i downloaded the BCMP but have no idea how to use it...i also downloaded the foundation thing and i downloaded a defiant but when each was finished i got a black screen of death when i started up my BC......soo i need a complete walkthrough on how to download/install and get these things working. TheHunter'

A little edit...i have given up trying to fix...whatever and i've made another backup folder of bridge commander with no extra files and that and i'm now downloaded the BCSMC v5.5...whatever that is (hence what the hell i don't know about these things)

so yeah..i need serious help because i'm an idiot who understands nothing on the expanded world of Bridge commander downloading and blah blah.

Ok. Lets start at the beginning!

1. Install BC 2. Download and install the patch 3. Download either BCMP or BCMI 4. Run one of these and allow it to install foundation to your root BC directory. You may need to change this manually 5. At this point I STRONGLY recommend making a back-up of your entire BC folder 6. When you download a shit, copy and paste the 'data', 'scripts' and 'sfx' folders into your root BC folder and click yes to merge the folders 7. Start up BC 8. If you get a BSOD, post a console report. If you don't know how to get a console report, instructions are here 9. If you get to the main menu, activate the mutators. They can be found in: Config-->Mutators

And you're done!

EDIT: Okay i've done all that (unless my previous question - see above- is not right) but now i've got a new problem...'Please insert the BC CD' and that...I HAVE THE CD IN THERE!!!

If you installed to the default location, the root folder is C:/Program Files/Activisions/Bridge Commander/.

As for the CD problem, I'm stumped! I've only heard of it happen when someone is using a no-CD crack or something.

Hmm...how would you fix a CD cracked one? that might work for the thing although it may not be cracked...it might work.

I don't know. I've only seen it posted here, which is promptly followed by a cry of "Get out!" :P!

It is possible that there is a problem with the CD. Does it register with your computer when it's in?

a no CD crack, besides being SUPER illegal, is a way of stealing the software. as for your problem with the CD, is it an old one? you might just be having a scratched/scuffed cd problem. to my knowledge no mods should interfere with the CD.
