Does anybody know how to fix the problem with the quickbattle.py given with the scrolling bridge menu mod and starbase12 crashing during quickbattle. I have been frustrated for a while now about how starbase12 isn't there when I warp to SB12 system with quickbattle and I couldn't figure out what went wrong until I realised that it works fine until I install the bridge menu scroller which overwrites the existing quickbattle.py. I opened up the bridge menu's quickbattle.py with python 2.3, and i compared it thoroughly with the quickbattle.py that it would overwrite. I noticed that right between #add quick battle set and #disable contact starfleet there should be two commands regarding the Belaruz system and starbase12. These few lines are present in the quickbattle.py that already exists in the scripts/quickbattle, but they are not present in the quickbattle.py given with the bridge menu scroller. I tried filling them in word for word(copying and pasting isn't an option in python 2.3), but it still didn't work, the screen just goes black. Sorry if i'm being boring but I was wondering if there are any advanced STBC modders out there who know what's happening here because I'm new to STBC modding. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I've got the same problem too. Whenever I warp to Starbase12 map the starbase isn't there. Also, the scrolling arrows on the bridge menu disappeared. The menu is a little bigger, but the arrows are gone. So, if any modders can fix this, it would be gratefully appreciated.

Whose bridge menu mod do you have?? There's two out there: one really old one, and mine (which comes with every bridge). Mine has nothing to do with Starbase12, as it's a mutator and only effects one def. I'd suggest you replace your quickbattle.py file with the one in the SDK 1.1 file, then turn on my bridge menu mutator. As for the arrows disappearing, my mod has that problem as well. Ok I'm pretty sure it is the quickbattle.py file from the bridge menu scroller. I read the thread Starbase12 crash! and read that if I delete the .vox files in my data/ships directory, that the problem would be fixed because its a problem with NanoFX. I tried that and it didn't work, the starbase was still gone. I am not experienced with editing STBC scripts and therefore do not have the ability to fix the problem. Again it would be much appreciated if anybody who knows how to edit STBC scripts look into this some more. If not i'm just going to have to use fewer bridges or no starbase. Thanks in advance.

What is SDK? Do I need it for the starbase to come back? When I restore my backup quickbattle.py the starbase comes back but when I put scrolling bridge menu quickbattle.py to replace it, the starbase is gone during quickbattle. The version I'm using is at address below. If I put you're updated file from the link you provided, will that be enough or will I also need this SDK? I tried the quickbattle.py from SDK 1.1, and now all of my bridges are gone and none of the my systems are present in quickbattle mode. And I can't set course for anything.

Problem solved! You were right to suspect that I was using an older bridge menu scroller. The whole time I was using the old mod when i already had the new one installed with one of my bridges. After putting in your menu fix, it worked like a charm! Now I can select any bridge I want and go to Starbase 12! If you're wondering why I care so much to have starbase12 its because I have a custom mp3 playing when you enter the system that reminds me of a TNG episode I saw. I just had to keep it. Thanks alot Sneaker98!

The old bridge menu scroller is a good year or so old... and it replaces files, which is badddd for nowadays BC modding.

I've been using the new bridge scroller that comes with the bridges. I downloaded your fix and the bridge scroller works fine now, but starbase 12 still isn't there. So, will the quickbattle.py from sdk help and will it cause any probs with nanofx2 installed? I don't know if they have anything to do with each other, because i don't know much about modding. Thanks.
