I just set up my new Samsung Widescreen (Syncmaster 941BW). To start I really don't know what I'm doing with Widescreens so there are some problems with resolution. I've been running it at 1280x1024. When i tried to open Bridge Commander (Kobayashi Maru mod specifically) i get this error. Render Creation Failure Error string from renderer was: "Creation failed: Desired fullscreen display mode not supported" Then when I exit the game it changes my resolution in windows to 1280x800 which looks like crap, and the 1280x1024 option isnt even present until I reset my computer. Any help you can render would be fantastic, thanks!

Right it all depends on what screen size you have, if it's a 19" widescreen as the mod no states then find out what the native resolution of the monitor is which is more than likely going to be 1440x900 and then go in to the BC directory and open thye config file and in one of the sections it mentions screen resolution and then just change them as required, 1280 = 1440 1024 = 900

Then it should be fine.

I found the file and made the changes: [Graphics Options] Texture Detail|2 Number of Lights|8 MipMaps|1 Display Depth|32 Display Height|900 LOD Skip|0 Visible Damage|3 Display Device=Direct3D T&L HAL on Radeon X1900 Series Display Width|1440 Fullscreen Mode|1 Effect Detail|3 However I'm still getting the same error.

EDIT: Oh the 1440x900 in windows looks perfect thanks.

I reset my computer and deleted the CFG file and now it has launched. Thanks for helping though!

as far as i know, if you have a widescreen monitor, you'll have to deal with playing BC in 1280*1024; that's the best it will do... i have, myself, been unsuccesful in trying to change the options.cfg file to have the resolution be 1440*900...

I've had mine set to widescreen for well over a year, my laptop's got a nvidia go gfx chip and a 15.4 inch screen running at 1280x800 and my BC runs fine, changed in config using wordpad and it worked fine since then. Couldn't stand the distorted view.
